FC Sion returned to winning ways in the league by overcoming a strong Stade Nyonnais side. Liam Chipperfield's first goal of the game secured victory late on (83rd). The Sédunois won the game mentally and with a magnificent spirit in a very physical duel.

FC Sion's trip to Colovray resulted in another three points, continuing their positive run. The match was hotly contested between the Vaudois and the Valaisans. From the outset, it was a very physical duel, with Stade Nyonnais out to get the better of their opponents. With the ball at their feet, the Sédunois were able to find solutions, but were unable to find themselves in good situations. In the end, it took a free-kick from Reto Ziegler to open the scoring. On the half-hour mark, the Valais captain scored his third goal of the season with the perfect, unstoppable free-kick for Omeragic.

After the break, Christophe Caschili's men quickly equalised, putting an end to FC Sion's unbeaten run. Escorza's shot beat Timothy Fayulu. Les Vaudois could even have taken the lead had Adriano De Pierro's header not hit the Valais right-hand post. The game became increasingly hard-fought. Finally, Didier Tholot's men found a solution in the dying minutes thanks to two new arrivals. Cristian Souza set up Liam Chipperfield perfectly on the edge of the Vaud area. The number 35 found the net and was able to celebrate his first goal for FC Sion. The perfect moment to do so.

Numa Lavanchy summed up the match in his interview: "We took three points and that's what counts. I'm happy for Timothy Fayulu that we managed to win this match. He made a mistake tonight after saving us so many times. Tonight, it was us who made the difference for him. Didier Tholot, for his part, was pleased with the result: "There are still some gaps, that's for sure. We were outplayed by our opponents in the duels. But we still have four wins and a draw. The series continues and we're moving forward. We want to win every game.

With this win, their fourth in five games, FC Sion are guaranteed a place among the top teams at the end of matchday 5. Next Friday in Tourbillon, FC Sion host newly-promoted FC Baden (20:15).
