Three wins, ten goals scored, zero conceded. That's FC Sion's record in their last three Challenge League matches. It took a while for the Valaisans to find the back of the net in Baden last night. The difference was made in the second half, and the 0-4 scoreline was logical in the end, as the Sédunois dominated the match.

At kick-off, Didier Tholot opted for the same line-up that had beaten FC Wil before the international break. The first 30 minutes were under control, but they failed to threaten Tim Spycher's goal. Finally, it wasn't until the 40th minute that FC Sion made the difference. Reto Ziegler rose to meet Isufi's cross from Kabacalman. The Aargau defender headed the ball into his own net. At half-time, FC Sion were in the lead. Didier Tholot emphasized the importance of this first goal in his press conference on Thursday.

After the break, the Sédunois came back strongly, hoping to break the deadlock quickly and extinguish the opponents' hopes. This they did in the 50th minute, when Sorgic headed in Bua's cross. The number 9's attempt was then finished off by Weilenmann, who scored an own goal. From then on, the Sédunois' task became easier and space opened up at the back. The newcomers also brought a cutting edge, with Théo Bouchlarhem making two decisive passes. The first to Ilyas Chouaref (77th), who sent a missile into the top corner. The second went to Denis-Will Poha, who made a perfect through ball to round off a perfect evening.

With this victory and that of FC Thun, the two teams move to the top of the Challenge League, eight points clear of the third-placed team. Bern and Valais also have the same goal difference (+14). Next week, the Valaisans will be looking to maintain their momentum when they welcome Neuchâtel Xamax to Tourbillon (Friday, 8.15pm)
