THE FC SION
Didier Tholot's men were victorious at the end of the match in Nyon last Friday, and were able to start the new week full of confidence. The work continued in warmer weather.
The Valais club's positive run now stands at 4 wins and 1 draw from 5 league matches. At home, the Sédunois got their season off to a perfect start with two 1-0 wins. Tomorrow, FC Sion host bottom-placed FC Baden in Tourbillon, and will be hoping to build on this success. But beware of overconfidence against an opponent who will be going all out for a first win of the season.
FC Sion meet FC Baden for the first time since March 22, 2006. The Valaisans won 0-1 away in Aargau, thanks to an Emanuele Di Zenzo strike in front of 985 spectators.
THE FC BADEN
FC Baden returned to the Challenge League this season. They had left the second division at the same time as FC Sion at the end of the 2005/2006 season. FC Sion were to play in the Super League, while FC Baden were to play in the lower echelons. Last summer, the two teams went their separate ways, ending up in the Challenge League.
The Aargau outfit have made a difficult start to the season, picking up just one point from five games. Michael Winsauer's men have the worst defensive record in the league, having already conceded 16 goals in two heavy defeats to Thun (6-0) and Wil (0-5) last Sunday. A reaction is expected this Friday in Tourbillon.
