FC Sion return to the Challenge League with a trip to Schaffhausen. Unbeaten so far this season, the Valais outfit will be hoping to continue their upward trend and kick off the first English week of the season in style. Match preview!

LE FC SION

The magnificent Swiss Cup victory over Grasshopper has given Didier Tholot's players a healthy dose of confidence ahead of the first English week of the season. In a week's time, FC Sion will travel to Schaffhausen and take on Thun and Xamax, two direct rivals for top spot this season.

Before thinking about these two matches, the Sédunois are focused on the trip to the other end of Switzerland (tomorrow, 7.30pm). Beaten by Baden before the international break, the Valais players know what to expect when they take on FC Schaffhausen, who have been struggling since the start of the season.

LE FC SCHAFFHOUSE

FC Schaffhausen are not where they want to be after six matchdays. The Yellow and Blacks are still in search of their first win of the season, and sit bottom of the table as Matchday 7 kicks off. With just a single point on the board (2-2 against Aarau), the Schaffhausen outfit will need to respond when they entertain FC Sion tomorrow. All the more so as they are coming off a clear 6-0 defeat by FC Vaduz and a Swiss Cup elimination by AC Bellinzona (3-1).

However, the summer brought hope at the other end of the country, with the appointment of André Meier as coach and the arrival of Eren Derdiyok. The 73-year-old coach has yet to find a winning formula, with no wins to his name and the league's worst defence, conceding 17 goals in six games. In attack, the 35-year-old striker with 60 caps for the Nati is also struggling, with no goals to his name.
