FC SION
FC Sion ended their run of poor home form last week with victory over FC Aarau. Tomorrow, Didier Tholot's men will be back in front of their fans with the aim of confirming their good start to the season. This week, the serious and diligent work continued with a session on the pitch at the Tourbillon stadium on Wednesday morning.
The Valais club are the only Challenge League side not to have conceded a goal since the start of the season. In the Swiss Football League (Super League + Challenge League), only Lugano has done so well.
The last official meeting between the two sides was on 19 April 2011. The two sides played out a 2-2 draw. The goals came from Zambrella and Sio.
AC BELLINZONA
Ticino's Challenge League representatives are still searching for their first win of the season. Sandro Chieffo's men lost their opener to FC Wil (0-2) before picking up a point last week against FC Baden (1-1). Last season, the Ticino finished in 9th place with 37 points from 36 games.
This season, however, the Ticino have to contend with the departure of their two top scorers from last season, Cristian Souza and Sergio Cortellezi, both of whom scored eight goals.
While Cristian Souza will be reunited with his former team-mates tomorrow in Tourbillon, FC Sion will also have the opportunity to cross paths with a familiar face. Matteo Tosetti is now wearing the colours of Bellinzona. He played for Valais between 2020 and 2022.
